Spacial-mobile C
Painted polyester sculpture
Height : 2.5 m ; Length : 2.3 m ; Depth : 0.35 m
Created in 1976 at Collège Paul Fort in Is-sur-Tille (Côte-d’Or)
The spacial-mobile C is composed of a rectangular plane with clipped corners set on a vertical axis. Its appearance is the result of the surface folding and cut outs. Despite the frontal view due to its windscreen shape, this sculpture takes hold of its environment and offers a real structuring of space by means of the articulation of the planes and the openings made therein …
The smooth, white aspect of these surfaces, their different orientation, the circles in relief and the openings made in the planes subtly direct the light and offer a very large range of values. This was the first work that Marcelle Cahn at age 81 finally saw created.
